In the wait for the new MGMT record – which the boys are supposedly already mixing – one ought to listen to a lesser-played song of theirs:  “All We Ever Wanted Was Everything”.  A cover of the song by the same name by British rock band, Bauhaus, the song was included on the 2011 album, Late Night Tales: MGMT, a compilation of sorts of the band’s favorite artists and songs.  “All We Ever Wanted Was Everything” is a rather anxious, uncomfortable song but there is an undeniable beauty to it as well.  It is, in fact, darker than such MGMT songs as “Time to Pretend” and “Weekend Wars” but it’s equally wonderful.

I am a kid from Queens, New York currently going to school in Ithaca, New York. I'm a writing major at Ithaca College where I try to write with both heart and mind, people-watch, and try to perform some stand-up comedy. Having seen every episode of “Seinfeld” and “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” I make at least one reference to the former every day—it just happens—and notice that comedic bits I’ve done are similar in nature to those of Larry David. Probably very derivative but, hey, I’m trying! Seriously, though, I love film, literature, and music, and feel honored to be a part of the team.
