Music: Passion Pit - "Take A Walk"
Yesterday morning, the ever-bouncy, eternally bubbly, and perpetually wistful Passion Pit released a new single to the web. Check it:
Am I wrong, or does this feel like an indie pop Bob Dylan song? Musically, the song is super catchy. It’s Passion Pit, what did you expect? I especially love the super present, booming piano in the song. However, it’s really going to take some practice for me to be able to properly enjoy a song by them with a political overtone. Music is supposed to be my place to escape all of that, not a place to hear lines like ” But then my partner called to say the pension firms were gone / He made some bad investments, now the account’s all overdrawn.” Passion Pit doesn’t sound right when they say the word “socialist.”
