When I first ran across cut out techniques of creating art, I was immediately intrigued. Joe Bagley’s papercuts (which you can see HERE) were awesome, so I started going around looking for more of the same. That’s when I found out that some artists create more ephemeral images through reducing their medium to their desired form.
Lorenzo Duran is one of these inspired artists. He creates art by cutting away pieces of leaves until they make something beautiful. Sometimes he will stick with a natural scene and sometimes he will just go with an abstract design, but Lorenzo Duran always impresses. The natural color tones of the leaves play perfectly into the art that he’s trying to make.
I wish I could give you a few links to his website or Facebook to get in contact with Lorenzo Duran and explore his work more thoroughly, but I’ve looked far and wide and I haven’t been able to find anything on the web. Instead, I’ll try to give you as many examples of his work as possible since I really love it.
